Grossman, Vasily Semyonovich

(1905-64)
   Russian writer. He was born in Berdichev and moved to Moscow as a young man. He later worked as a chemical engineer in the coal mines of Donbas. His trilogy Stephan Kolchugin includes Jewish themes. His Cartea Neagrd provides documentary evidence of Nazi crimes committed against Jews in Soviet territory.
